Services Offered by Stepping Stones Life Counselling

I am a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist and a Registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).  This means I work within the BACP Ethical Framework ensuring good and safe practice for clients always.  I provide a safe, confidential and professional counselling service in an integrative way, using Cognitive Behavoiural Therapy (CBT) Transactional Analysis and Person Centred approaches.

I became a counsellor in my 40s having experienced a close relative who was an alcoholic and joining a 12 step program, running a company in California with my husband, and living abroad with my son until we returned to this country in 1996, then becoming very ill with M.E/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I originally trained and worked in the Arts.

After my marriage breakdown and during the illness was when I discovered the benefits of counselling.  I can therefore offer a great deal of life and working experience, including the creative side of therapy, a great benefit in my counselling.  I am also a fund raiser for a local charity.

I work at Blenheim Children’s Centre with the parents, and also at The Dove with women suffering from abusive relationships.  I help to run a group there incorporating creative ideas and mindfulness.

Fees from £35 a session.

I regularly update my CPD skills and have the following certificates in:

  • Mindfulness
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Living with a Narcissist
  • Transactional Analysis and the Inner Child
  • Working with the Expressive Arts
  • Couples Counselling
  • Understanding Depression
